Course Information
The Bachelor of Design (Architecture) engages with the rich and diverse discipline of architecture. As the undergraduate portion of an accredited programme the course prepares the foundation for further study whilst developing your skills to create meaningful, sustainable and stimulating built environments.
The course integrates multiple creative and technical fields as well as skillsets that examine and shape the places we inhabit, through all building types, spaces and locations. You’ll explore architectural ideas through cutting edge content, research and a global perspective – gaining practical knowledge studying real-world projects and developing your ability to generate, analyse and communicate your own ideas. You will produce design concepts whilst being challenged to explore architectural history and philosophy, building science and the environment, construction technologies, computer-aided modelling, drawing, model making and digital fabrications.
Professional accreditation
Upon successful completion of the Master of Architecture, this program is accredited by the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia) . and (within Australia) by the Australian Institute of Architects, the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA).
Bachelor of Design (Digital Technologies)
Develop the IT expertise and design knowledge to deliver impactful digital solutions for creative and social issues in our changing world.
Learn the fundamentals of design thinking and strategies, and develop the technical skills required to explore:

Learn about technological entrepreneurship and innovation and specialise in an area – such as creative coding, robotics or 3D motion – that interests you most. Work on real projects and develop a strong portfolio of work throughout your studies. In your final year, you will take part in a collaborative industry project, working in a studio setting with industry and commercial partners. Experience resolving a real-world creative project from conception to completion will equip you with the in-demand skills that employers look for.

Bachelor of Cyber Security
Deakin’s Bachelor of Cyber Security provides you with a solid foundation of cyber security literacy and technical and investigative skills required by industry to combat cyber crime. Gain strong practical and theoretical knowledge in this critical area of IT, with an emphasis on understanding and assessing cyber security in a working environment, knowledge of security solutions, and an understanding of the business, ethical and legal implications of risk management.
The degree focuses on elements and sets you up with strong skills in critical thinking and problem solving. You will be able to apply your learning in the workplace, and capably deal with imminent threats and challenges from the digital space where interconnected vehicles, drones, smart home gadgets, mobile and wearable devices, and health-kits prosper.
Work experience
This degree includes a core IT placement unit where you will be required to undertake a minimum of 100 hours in industry, providing professional work experience with an approved host organisation. You will also work on industry projects, gaining experience in entrepreneurship and business skills.
Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence
Deakin’s Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence is a 3-year program, this program will equip you with the knowledge and skill-set to design, develop, and evolve software solutions with artificial intelligence. You will work alongside software engineers, data scientists, application developers and business analysts, applying your specialist knowledge to ensure artificial intelligence is appropriately integrated into software solutions from a technical and human perspective.
Hands-on experience is a must. Once you graduate, you will be well-equipped to work on the design, development, and operation of software solutions involving artificial intelligence.
Work experience
This course includes a compulsory work placement where you will be required to undertake a minimum of 100 hours in industry, providing professional work experience with an approved host organisation.
Bachelor of Information Technology
This Degree provides you with the knowledge, skills and experience required for a career as an IT professional. You’ll be capable in managing information technology, digital proficiency and technological transformations in all sectors of the community.
IT skills is required in almost every industry, choose from a wide range of IT specialisations according to your interests and career aspirations, cover areas such as cyber security, application development, computer games, gaming, virtual and augmented reality, creative technologies and cloud computing and gain experience constructing IT solutions to real-world problems.
Working Experience
This course includes an internship unit that provides professional work experience with an approved host organisation. Students also have the opportunity to gain business skills working on real-world products. The inclusion of a compulsory placement and industry-linked projects will provide you with practical experience in IT related organisations.
Master of Business Administration (MBA International)
Deakin’s MBA (International) focuses on international business for those currently working or seeking to work in an international context. The MBA (International) is for those who may not have experience as a business manager, but have aspirations to move into management.
Students can move directly from undergraduate studies to postgraduate MBA (International) studies.(Bachelor degree or other qualification at a higher AQF level in any discipline, with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65)
This course provides students the opportunity to complete one or more elective work integrated learning units.

This program offers collaboration with industry and a significant part of it is taught by experienced industry professionals. It introduces a range of internationally recognised business intelligence and analytics tools and provides you with the skills for the thriving business analytics profession. With a strong practical focus, you will have access to analytics certification programs by market leaders IBM, SAS and Microsoft.

Bachelor of Education
(Early Years)
This course focuses on on contemporary issues in children’s learning and development, curriculum theories and pedagogies, discipline knowledge, and the changing work context within early childhood and primary education. Students apply their learning in professional contexts, gaining experience and confidence as pre-service teachers in early childhood, preschool and primary school settings.
Professional recognition
This program is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) as an early childhood teaching qualification in Australia; and is accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) as an initial teacher education program against the Australian professional standards for teachers.
