The University of Waikato
Located in the city of Hamilton (Waikato Region). Home to Hobbiton (Lord of the Rings) Movie Set. Hamilton is the economic hub of the Waikato Region. Hamilton City Council’s Economic Development Agenda has set to work with the city’s business community to power the economic contribution to the New Zealand economy.
The University of Waikato was largely farmland, and now it has grown to a student population of about 13,000 of whom more than 4,800 complete a qualification annually. Today, the University employs 2000 academic and support staff, making a significant contribution to the local and national economy.
The University of Waikato Hamilton campus is the university’s main campus. It provides a vibrant student atmosphere and safe environment for students to live, study and socialise.
The Village Green is the hub of student life. It sits alongside one of three lakes on campus and is surrounded by cafes and eateries. The campus covers 65 hectares of beautiful park-life grounds and lakes and is fully with a variety of facilities.
The University of Waikato has campuses in Hamilton and Tauranga, and a satellite campus in Hangzhou, China.
